Bio: Hi! I'm Samantha, a sophomore at Eastern Michigan University. I am 19 years old, and I love being in college. I'm a member of the Honors College, work as a tour guide at Eastern, and am a member of the Delta Alpha chapter of Sigma Kappa sorority. Even though I don't always admit it, I love spending time with my parents, 15 year old brother, and my dog (Henry). I am double majoring in Secondary Education Language, Literature, and Writing and Secondary Education Spanish Language. I'm really really really excited to be a high school teacher, but I think I'm even more excited to step out of my comfort zone and live in Sevilla for a whole semester! My journey begins on January 31st and will conclude on May 14th. I think the "step" out of my comfort zone will be more like a "flying leap": I've never travelled abroad (except for Canada, but I drove there). Everything I experience in Spain is going to be brand new. Bear with me as I say a temporary goodbye to my family, go on an airplane for the first time in my adult life, learn what it's like to live in a big city, meet my host family, attempt to speak fluent Spanish, and hopefully go on lots of adventures! I can assure you that I will have great stories to share :).
